The Sydney Schubert Society welcomes back rising singing stars Julie JongEun Barber (soprano) and Lewis Barber (baritone) to present a program of some of Schubert's most popular "Lieder" with pianist Jeanell Carrigan.

Julie JongEun Barber is a Korean-Australian Soprano currently resident in Rostock, Germany. She studied her Bachelor of Music performance degree at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music under the tutelage of Stephen Yalouris, graduating in 2017. Julie has had many great opportunities to be selected in the Masterclasses by world renowned singers including Barbara Bonney, Anne Schwanewilms, Ulrike Sonntag and Martin Hill.
Julie started her solo career in 2014. She has performed extensively in Australia, South Korea, Germany and Italy with repertoire spanning from Bach to Puccini. Whilst in Australia, she performed regularly as a soloist for the Phoenix Choir, the Sydney Schubert Society and Rockdale Opera company to name a few.
Lewis Barber (tenor) completed his Bachelor of Music (Performance) at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music in 2016.
Whilst in Australia Lewis performed regularly. In 2017 he performed in concerts and operas in Prague and Salzburg with the Prague Summer Nights music festival. In 2017 he also featured in the Rockdale Opera’s Gala Concert and as a soloist for the Sydney Schubert Society. In 2018 and 2019, Lewis has appeared in numerous other concerts, including as ‘Simon’ in Haydn’s oratorio The Seasons, and as a principal in Rockdale Opera company 2019 Cabaret.
In 2020 Lewis moved to Germany begin his Masters of Music (Opera) at the Hochschule for Music and Theatre Rostock under the tutelage of Olaf Haye, during this time Lewis transitioned from baritone to tenor and appeared in several productions including Donner in Das Rheingold, Roger Fleuriot in Meine Schwester und ich, as well as various concerts and solo appearances.
