The imagination or Phantasie was central to the existential project of romanticism. We expose Schubert's exploration of the imagination itself in this program and the way in which this inspired some of the piano virtuosos of later times. The Schubertiade features the remarkable talent of pianist Dono Ng who will tackle rarely heard works of breathtaking virtuosity and Schubert's haunting Fantasy in C major for Violin and Piano (with Goetz Richter, violin)
